Creating a knowledgeable civil society and promoting arts and culture with diversity is one of our visions. Designed for different local institutions, Zuni offers various programmes to the students and or members of these institutions. The programmes include basic training in creative elements, internship, study tour, general education and art education, and so forth.

Creative Playground - Basic Training in Creative Elements

“Creative Playground” is a learning programme on the basics of experimental theatre specially designed for local young people aged 16-25, using the creative concept of Danny Yung, the pioneer of Chinese experimental arts, as a blueprint, with the aim of training local artistic talents. After interviews and auditions, trainees of Creative Playground will participate in a series of courses on the basic skills of creativity, including lessons on the body, sounds, space, technology, symbols and structure. They will learn to know themselves and theatre, as well as to learn about theatre performance and creation.


Internship Programme

Zuni’s Internship Programme commences since 2009; this allows students to take part in the creative and production of theatre and exhibition. The objective of the programme is to raise the interest of the students in the different areas of the creative and production process in various art forms and at the same time provide some basic training on the related subjects.

General Education and Arts Experience

Since the beginning of 2009, we have launched a corresponding arts education program to cater for the implementation of the new senior secondary school system and general education. The theme covers local social affairs and civic education. History, philosophy, culture, art concept. Through the students' tour guide for the secondary school community, guided tours, seminars and discussions on social, historical, cultural and artistic issues to help young people master the facts, understand the phenomenon, clarify Concept, to achieve awareness of training, and critical reflection, independent thinking ability.


Study Tour

Since 2015, Zuni has introduced “Nanjing Study Tour” to the youth theatre learning programme “Creative Playground”. More than 50 young people, who travel to Nanjing to learn from the local Kunqu Opera Masters and performing arts master from different Asian cities, were benefited from the study tour in the 2-year programme. There is a very positive effect on their understanding of the performing arts and expanding their horizons.

Purposes of the study tour are to provide opportunities for the young people

  1. To keep abreast with the latest developments and developments in arts and culture in Hong Kong, China and Asia
  2. To learn about the innovation and heritage of traditional performing arts in China and Asia
  3. To establish networks as a starting point for further exchange can collaboration
