Objectives

To let the participants explore the possibilities of their own voice
Explore sound with different rules and vocabularies
From an individual to a collective
To be aware of the structure of sound

Outcome

Begin to be aware of the characteristics and limitation of one’s sound
Begin to be aware of the others and able to interact with others with sound
To construct simple sound piece with their own voice and simple rules and vocabularies

Vary possibilities of sound

Participants sit in a circle
As close as possible

According to the experience of "Lesson 3 - Sound: Voice (2)"
Instructor guides participants to discuss the introduction of new rules and vocabulary
Or delete some existing rules and vocabularies
Even their way of sitting or lying and position
Write down the rules and vocabularies on the whiteboard

Do you prefer to “listen” or to “speak”? Understanding the things we hear through our ears can enhance our abilities to express what we want other people to know through language or sounds. Designing, constructing and managing the natural and man-made sounds are fun experiments in the theatre. Using previous experiments and illustrative examples, Danny Yung will lead you to explore and learn about the possibilities associated with sounds.
