  1. Table or any surface where each participant has enough space to make sound
  2. Chairs (for instructor and all participants to sit on)
Objectives
  1. To let the participants explore the possibilities of sound and rhythm through simple percussion
  2. Explore sound with different rules and vocabularies
  3. From an individual to a collective
  4. To be aware of sound
Outcome
  1. Begin to be aware of the sound characteristics and the variation of simple percussion
  2. Begin to be aware of the others and able to interact with others with sound

Be a listener

As a warm-up
Participants sit or stand around the tables
Tap on the table top with hand with the same speed set by the instructor regularly

A minute later
Any participants can choose to take the lead to accelerate bit by bit
Others must follow

During the exercise
Participants should not communicate using
Language
Facial expression
Body language

Just be a listener

Be concentrate and listen carefully to others throughout the exercise

    Do you prefer to “listen” or to “speak”? Understanding the things we hear through our ears can enhance our abilities to express what we want other people to know through language or sounds. Designing, constructing and managing the natural and man-made sounds are fun experiments in the theatre. Using previous experiments and illustrative examples, Danny Yung will lead you to explore and learn about the possibilities associated with sounds.
